2008 Welcome Week
The Chemistry Department welcomed the Class of 2012 on August 22nd.

2008 Diversity Dinner
The Chemistry Department hosted its first annual Diversity Dinner on April 24th. The evening included presentations by students who had studied abroad in Fall 2007, musical performances and other items.

Senior presents research at State Capitol
On October 2nd, 2007, senior chemistry major Jill Worlinsky presented her research project titled "Detection of Quadruplex DNA using Lanthanide Probes" at an undergraduate poster session at the State Capitol. The aim of the session was to highlight undergraduate research at various institutions across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Grant to aid research on St. John's Wort and Related Species in PA
Assistant Professor Geneive Henry recently received a $34,980 grant from Research Corp. to further her research on the Hypericum genus, which has 19 species, including perforatum (St. John's wort), growing in Pennsylvania. Congressman Carney tours Fisher Science Hall
On April 4th, 2007, Congressman Chris Carney (PA-10) visited Susquehanna University. His stops included Fisher Science Hall, where he met with faculty and students in the Chemistry Department.
