Interlibrary Loan - Periodical Services - Photocopier Services

The Library will request books and articles from other libraries for faculty, staff, and students via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Book loans vary from 2 – 8 weeks, depending on the lending library; articles are delivered via the Ariel web server. An email is sent with instructions on how to access the article. Delivery for books normally occurs within 2–8 working days of the request , while periodical articles may be delivered electronically within 36-48 hours. However, during peak borrowing periods that time may be extended.

Other Libraries' Catalogs

From the library’s web page http://www.susqu.edu/library, faculty can also search the catalogs of hundreds of other libraries around the world. In addition to telling whether or not a library owns a particular title, many online catalogs provide library hours and dates of operation to assist in planned visits. Most items found in these catalogs can be obtained through Interlibrary Loan (see above) if they are not available in our library.

Periodicals Services

The Library currently subscribes to over 470 periodicals and 9 newspapers in print format. It is possible to subscribe to new paper periodicals by canceling existing subscriptions. However, the full-text of articles in almost 16,000 additional periodicals and newspapers is accessible via electronic subscriptions to such databases as:

Periodicals with full text in online databases are listed in the Blough-Weis Library's A to Z Periodicals List, which can be accessed from the Library's web page or directly at: http://sfx.susqu.edu:3210/su_sfx/azlist/default

Photocopy Services

The Library is equipped with high-quality photocopiers for the use of all patrons. The copiers have copy reduction, enlargement and back-to-back capabilities. Faculty members may consult the department’s faculty secretary for PIN numbers to use in the photocopiers. Copies of articles on microfilm/fiche can also be made on the reader/printers in the Microforms Room. Currently there is no charge for copies made from microforms. See a staff member for assistance.
