SELINSGROVE, Pa. – For the second time this season, Susquehanna University senior fullback Jason Eck has been selected as the team's Gus Weber Crusader Player of the Week, sponsored by the Golden Corral Family Steak House along Routes 11 & 15 in Shamokin Dam.

Eck (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) carried 21 times for a season-high 122 yards and two touchdowns as the Crusaders defeated Albright 34-27 in Reading on Saturday.

Eck scored on a pair of 2-yard runs, one to cap a 19-play, 91-yard drive that consumed 10:32 that gave Susquehanna a 7-0 lead, and his second in the first minute of the fourth quarter to knot the score at 27-27.

Eck's 122-yard effort was the second-best of his career and his fifth career 100-yard game, while his two touchdowns increased his school-record career total to 44 rushing touchdowns. He also moved into fourth place on the Susquehanna career rushing yards list with 2,151 yards and is just 28 yards shy of passing Hank Belcolle for second place.

He leads the team in rushing with 522 yards on 104 carries (5.0 average) along with 12 touchdowns, and is seventh in the MAC in rushing with an average of 65.2 yards per game.

The Golden Corral will donate a check for $100 in the name of Eck to the charity of his choice during Friday's Quarterback Club luncheon at noon in the Shearer-Weber Dining Rooms in the Degenstein Campus Center on the Susquehanna campus.

Now in their eighth year of sponsorship of the Gus Weber Player of the Week award, Golden Corral has donated $7,100 to charity in the names of Susquehanna players.

The Player of the Week award is named after former Susquehanna University president Gustave Weber , who served as president of Susquehanna for more than 18 years and was a former standout player at Wagner College. He was an avid booster of Crusader athletics, and in particular the football team, which he coached for the final two games of the 1965 season.

The Crusaders (4-4 overall, 3-4 MAC) host Lebanon Valley (3-5 overall, 2-5 MAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lopardo Stadium.
