Kleha Named Gus Weber Crusader Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University senior split end Josh Kleha has been selected as the team's Gus Weber Crusader Player of the Week, sponsored by the Golden Corral Family Steak House along Routes 11 & 15 in Shamokin Dam.

Kleha (Shamokin, PA/Mount Carmel) set a career high with nine receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown in the Crusaders' 46-39 loss to Delaware Valley last Saturday. His nine catches broke his career high of eight set in each of the Crusaders' previous two games, and in the process he became the fifth player in Susquehanna history to reach 100 career catches.

For the season, Kleha leads the Middle Atlantic Conference with 29 catches for 411 yards and four touchdowns. He is among the MAC leaders in receiving yards per game (102.8), all-purpose yards (140.0 yards per game) and kickoff returns (22.0 yards per return).

In 34 career games, Kleha ranks fourth in program history with 102 catches for 1,364 yards to rank seventh on the career yardage list.

The Golden Corral will donate a check for $100 in the name of Kleha to the charity of his choice during Friday's Quarterback Club luncheon at noon in the Shearer-Weber Dining Rooms in the Degenstein Campus Center on the Susquehanna campus.

Now in their eighth year of sponsorship of the Gus Weber Player of the Week award, Golden Corral has donated $6,700 to charity in the names of Susquehanna players.

The Player of the Week award is named after former Susquehanna University president Gustave Weber , who served as president of Susquehanna for more than 18 years and was a former standout player at Wagner College . He was an avid booster of Crusader athletics, and in particular the football team, which he coached for the final two games of the 1965 season.

The Crusaders (2-2 overall, 1-2 MAC) travel to Juniata (0-3 overall, 0-2 MAC) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
