Lampe Captures Commonwealth Women's Tennis Honor

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University senior Sarah Lampe has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending September 12, the conference office announced on Monday.

Lampe (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Christian) went 2-0 in both singles and doubles as the Crusaders defeated King's 8-1 on Tuesday and Lebanon Valley 7-2 on Saturday to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Playing at number-two singles, Lampe defeated Kristen Hunter of King's 6-1, 6-0 and Brooke Sensenig of Lebanon Valley 6-1, 6-2 to move to 3-0 on the season in singles and 26-9 for her career.

In doubles, Lampe teamed with fellow senior Leah Rice to defeat Megan Michael and Rita Kaluzavich of King's and Sensenig and Chris Jessen of Lebanon Valley by identical 8-6 scores.

The Crusaders host Juniata on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m..
