Swaney, Kleha Capture MAC Football Honors

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University junior kicker Dwight Swaney has been named Middle Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week while senior split end Josh Kleha was selected to the Honor Roll after leading the Crusaders to a 35-13 win over Widener at Lopardo Stadium on Saturday night.

Swaney (Mifflinburg, PA/Mifflinburg) drilled all five of his extra-point attempts and averaged 37.0 yards on five punts, four of which fell inside the Pioneer 20 including a long of 45 yards that rolled out of bounds at the Widener 3.

In addition, Swaney made two tackles on kickoffs and threw a block that helped the Crusaders execute a fake field-goal for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Kleha (Shamokin, PA/Mount Carmel) set career highs of eight catches, 119 yards and two touchdowns, catching a 56-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring and added a 14-yard score in the third quarter as the Crusaders scored 28 unanswered points to break open a 7-7 game.

For the season, Kleha leads the Crusaders and the MAC with 12 catches for 186 yards and three touchdowns.

The Crusaders (2-0) travel to Moravian on Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff in Bethlehem.
