Women's Soccer Places Four on All-Conference Team

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Four Susquehanna University women's soccer players have been named to the All-Commonwealth Conference team, as voted upon by the league's eight head coaches and released Wednesday.

Senior forward Jess Paulshock and senior defender Kate McMaster were named to the first team while senior forward Lindsay Nevins and junior midfielder Trish Noel were second-team choices.

In addition, Paulshock became the first Crusader to earn Player of the Year honors while Jim Findlay was named Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons as the Crusaders set a program record with 13 wins and qualified for the Commonwealth playoffs for the third straight season.

Paulshock (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) finished the regular season tied for the conference lead with a school-record 19 goals and second in points with 43, also a program record. She scored at least one goal in 12 of the Crusaders' 18 games and led the league with five game-winning goals.

Paulshock, a repeat first-team selection, entered Wednesday's Commonwealth Conference semifinal match against Elizabethtown with 42 goals and 18 assists for 102 points, tying her with Kim Anderson (1998-01) for the career point record and leaving her one shy of Anderson's mark of 43 career goals.

McMaster (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) was a second-team selection last season and helped anchor a Crusader defense that posted a 1.10 goals against average and recorded seven shutouts in 2004.

Nevins (Basking Ridge, NJ/Gill-St. Bernards) earned All-Conference honors all four seasons of her career, capturing second-team honors in 2001 and 2004 and first-team recognition in 2002 and 2003. She scored a career-high 11 goals and added five assists for 27 points in 17 games this season to rank second on the team in both goals and points.

Nevins ranks third in program history with 34 goals and 80 points in 70 games, with nine game-winning goals.

Noel (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) is a first-time All-Conference selection after scoring two goals and tying for fourth in the league with seven assists for nine points. She has not missed a game in her career (56 games) and has eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points.

Findlay, who was named Commonwealth Conference Coach of the Year in 2002 when he led the Crusaders to the league playoffs for the first time in program history, is in his sixth season as head coach and has guided the Crusaders to a 58-41-5 record during that span.

During his tenure, Susquehanna has had five straight non-losing seasons and has posted the top four single-season win totals in the program's 11-year history. It is the third straight season that Findlay has earned a Coach of the Year award as he was recognized last season for leading the men's team to the postseason for the first time in program history.
