Dormer, Lampe Earn All-Conference Women's Tennis Honors
ANNVILLE, PA – The Susquehanna University women's tennis team placed two players on the All-Commonwealth Conference first team as voted upon by the league's eight head coaches and released on Tuesday. Junior Danielle Dormer was a first-team selection for the second straight season while senior Sarah Lampe earned a spot on the first team after being named to the second team in 2003. Together, they helped the Crusaders to a 8-4 overall record and third place in the Commonwealth Conference with a 5-2 league mark under 11 th -year head coach Bob Jordan . Dormer (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East H.S.) compiled a 9-3 record at number-one singles to improve her career record to 31-7, while Lampe (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Christian) finished 8-2 at number-two singles in 2004 and with a career mark of 31-11. In doubles, Dormer finished 7-2 overall and 7-1 at number-two doubles with partner Sarah Boynton , while Lampe went 6-4 overall and 6-3 at number-one doubles with partner Leah Rice . Becky Deringer of Moravian was named Player of the Year while Leslie Sabas of Lebanon Valley captured Rookie of the Year honors. The Coach of the Year award went to Matt Helsel of Elizabethtown for the second straight season. Both Dormer and Lampe will be in singles and doubles action at this weekend's Middle Atlantic Conference women's tennis tournament, held at Drew University.
