Snyder, Chianese Sweep Conference Soccer Honors

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University juniors Nate Snyder and A.J. Chianese have been named the Commonwealth Conference Players of the Week in men's and women's soccer, respectively, the conference announced Monday.

Snyder (Catawissa, PA/Southern Columbia) scored all four of Susquehanna's goals last week, netting a pair in the Crusaders' 3-2 double-overtime loss against Franklin & Marshall to break the school career goal record of 29, then added two more in a 2-2 tie with Albright on Saturday including the game-tying penalty kick with 6:04 remaining in the second half.

Snyder is a six-time winner of conference Player of the Week honors in his career, and leads the Crusaders (7-5-1 overall, 2-1-1 Commonwealth) with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points in 13 games, and continues to extend his own program career records with 33 goals and 76 points in 48 games.

Chianese (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) lifted the Crusaders to a 2-1 overtime victory over Albright on Saturday with the game-winning goal as time expired in the first overtime period. Earlier in the week, she scored two goals and added an assist in Susquehanna's 6-0 win at King's.

For the season, Chianese leads the Crusaders (6-6-1 overall, 2-0-1 Commonwealth) with eight goals, including three game-winners, and is second with 18 points in 13 games.
