Crusaders Place Three on Men's Soccer All-Conference Team

SELINSGROVE , PA – Three Susquehanna University men's soccer players have been named first-team All-Commonwealth Conference as voted upon by the league's eight head coaches, the conference announced Thursday.

Senior forward Nate Snyder, senior midfielder Justin Makar and sophomore defender Isaac Laubach were all named to the first team after leading the Crusaders to the Commonwealth Conference championship match for the first time in program history.

The Crusaders finished 10-8-2 overall and 4-3 in the Commonwealth Conference for ninth-year head coach Jim Findlay.

Snyder (Catawissa, PA/Southern Columbia), a three-time first-team All-Conference selection, scored three goals and added two assists for eight points in 17 matches this season. He scored the game's only goal in 1-0 wins over Lycoming on Sept. 8 and Widener in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals on Oct. 31.

He closes his career as Susquehanna's career leader in goals with 37 and points with 88, and also scored 10 game-winning goals in 70 career matches.

Makar (Weirton, WV/Sewickley Academy), named first-team All-Conference for the first time after being a second-team choice in each of the last two seasons, led the Crusaders with five goals and four assists for 14 points this season, including game-winning goals at Widener on Sept. 30 and at Albright on Oct. 14.

He finished his career with 13 goals and 12 assists for 38 points in 66 matches.

Laubach (Millville, PA/Millville), who was a second-team All-Conference pick as a freshman, scored two goals from his defender position in 20 games this season. Both goals came against NCAA tournament qualifiers, as he scored at York on Oct. 4 in a 2-1 overtime loss and at home against DeSales on Oct. 26 in a 1-1 tie.
