Reichard, Mothershed Earn Baseball Postseason Honors

SELINSGROVE, Pa.– Susquehanna University junior first baseman Matt Reichard and junior second baseman Chris Mothershed have been named second-team All-Commonwealth Conference in baseball as voted upon by the league's eight head coaches and released Tuesday.

Reichard (Danville, PA/Danville) led the Crusaders in batting average (.347), runs scored (22), hits (42), doubles (6), home runs (3), runs batted in (20), total bases (57) and slugging percentage (.471) and finished second on the team with seven stolen bases.

For his career, Reichard is a .330 hitter in 92 games with 20 doubles, five triples, five home runs and 54 runs batted in. He needs one hit to become the 15 th player in school history to reach 100 career hits.

Mothershed (Elmira, NY/Southside) hit .310 with one home run and 18 runs batted in along with 14 runs scored in 30 games. He did not commit an error in 46 chances spanning 14 games at second base after switching over from shortstop at midseason.

For his career, Mothershed has a .283 batting average in 89 games with 85 hits, 11 doubles, 41 runs batted in and 46 runs scored.

The Crusaders finished 8-26-1 overall and in eighth place in the Commonwealth Conference with a 3-18 league mark under second-year head coach Matt Karchner.
