Lepley to Compete at NCAA Outdoor Track Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa.– For the second straight year, Susquehanna University sophomore hurdler Emily Lepley will compete in a pair of events at this week's NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.

Lepley (Lewistown, PA/Lewistown) will participate in both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles at nationals, after winning both events at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships en route to earning Most Outstanding Performer honors.

She is seeded fifth in the 400-meter hurdles after shattering the school and conference records in the event at the MAC championships with a time of 1:02.30, and is ranked 10 th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.49 seconds set at the Nittany Lion Relays on April 23.

Lepley earned All-American honors in the 100 hurdles last year after finishing sixth with a time of 15.10 seconds, and placed ninth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:02.81 that set a new school record that stood until her performance at the MAC championships on April 30.

Preliminaries for the 400-meter hurdles will be held on Thursday at 5:35 p.m. while trials in the 100-meter hurdles will be run on Friday at 5:40 p.m. Each of the three heat winners and the next five fastest runners by time will advance to Saturday's finals, with the 100 hurdles starting at 2:55 p.m. and the 400 hurdles beginning at 4:25 p.m. (all times Eastern Daylight Time).

In all, Lepley holds five individual (55 hurdles and 400 meters indoors, 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles and 400 meters outdoors) and two relay (4x100 outdoor, 4x400 indoor) records at Susquehanna.
