Galloway Steps Down as Men's Lacrosse Coach

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University head men's lacrosse coach Gordon Galloway has resigned after two years as head coach, director of athletics Pam Samuelson announced Thursday.

Galloway, who led the Crusaders to their first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference playoff berth in 2006, has accepted a position as associate director of admissions and marketing, admissions/athletics liaison and head boys lacrosse coach at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tenn.

"Gordon has been an integral part of building the men's lacrosse program at Susquehanna," said Samuelson. "Through his recruiting efforts, he has left the program in a prime position to move forward in upcoming years."

Galloway was named head coach prior to the 2005 season after spending the previous four years as an assistant coach. He is a 1997 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a bachelor's degree in economics and coached at the high school level in Oregon while earning a master's degree in education from Lewis & Clark College in 2001.

As head coach, Galloway led the Crusaders to a 14-17 record including a school-record eight victories during the 2006 season.

A national search will begin immediately for Galloway 's successor.
