Brenda Brewer Named Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, SWA

SELINSGROVE , PA – Susquehanna University has named Brenda Brewer head women's lacrosse coach and assistant director of athletics, director of athletics Pam Samuelson announced Monday.

Brewer comes to Susquehanna after serving as head women's lacrosse coach at The University of Scranton for five seasons (2000-02, 2005-06), where she compiled a 50-31 record and led the Royals to the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference championship and an NCAA tournament berth in addition to three trips to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) playoffs (2001, 2002, 2005).

As assistant director of athletics, Brewer will serve as Susquehanna's senior women's administrator, a title she held at Scranton since 1999.

"Brenda has enjoyed a great deal of success during her coaching career, and we are confident that she will continue her success at Susquehanna," said Samuelson. "With a strong background in a number of NCAA student-athlete enrichment programs, she also gives us the opportunity to enhance the overall experience of our student-athletes."

She also coached the Scranton field hockey team for six seasons from 1998 to 2003 and compiled a 56-56 record, leading the Royals to a school-record 16 wins and an ECAC championship in 1998 along with three conference postseason appearances.

Brewer earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Bloomsburg in 1991, where she was a member of the field hockey team, and a master in business administration from Scranton in 1998.
