Three Named All-MAC in Women's Lacrosse
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University has placed three players on the All-Middle Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse team, as voted upon by the league's 11 head coaches and released Tuesday.
Sophomore Rachel Devibiss and freshman Katelyn Deese were first-team selections while senior Chrissy Carfello was named to the second team after leading the Crusaders to a 6-9 overall record and a seventh-place finish in the MAC with a 5-5 conference record.
Devilbiss (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key), a second-team selection and MAC Rookie of the Year in 2005, led the Crusaders with 36 goals and 38 points during the 2006 season. She added 19 draw controls, 14 caused turnovers and 37 ground balls while scoring three game-winning goals.
Deese (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) started all 15 games and scored nine goals and two assists for 11 points while leading the team in draw controls (41), caused turnovers (31) and ground balls (46).
Carfello (Point Pleasant, NJ/Montville), a second-team All-MAC selection in 2004, scored 24 goals and added a team-high 11 assists for 35 points in 15 games after returning from a knee injury that curtailed her junior season. Carfello finished her career with 105 goals to rank fourth in program history while her 130 points are the sixth-most in Susquehanna history.
