Cuff Honored As Commonwealth Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE , PA – Susquehanna University junior forward Kevin Cuff has been named the Commonwealth Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 7, the conference office announced Monday.

Cuff (Pottsville, PA/Nativity B.V.M.) averaged 19.7 points and 9.3 rebounds in three games for the Crusaders last week, and was named Most Valuable Player as the Crusaders won the Radisson Invitational at the University of Scranton .

Cuff shot 21-for-41 (51.2 percent) from the field and 9-for-13 from three-point range for the Crusaders, and scored 20 or more points in two of the team's three games, including a 23-point effort in a 78-76 loss at Catholic on Wednesday.

At the Radisson Invitational, Cuff scored 11 points and nine rebounds in a 74-56 win over Morrisville State on Saturday, and tallied 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead all players in a 79-66 win over Scranton in Sunday's championship game.

For the season, Cuff is second on the team in scoring with an average of 17.0 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 6.6 rebounds per game. He leads the Commonwealth Conference in three-point field-goal percentage (58.5 percent, 24-for-41) and is third in scoring average behind teammate Josh Robinson (23.4 points per game) and Lebanon Valley 's Jimmy Curran (19.9 points per game).

The Crusaders (9-4 overall, 1-1 Commonwealth Conference) resume league play on Wednesday by hosting Juniata College at 8:00 p.m. at O.W. Houts Gymnasium.
