Robinson Named DIII News Player of the Month

SELINSGROVE , PA – Susquehanna University junior guard Josh Robinson has been named the DIII News Men's Basketball Player of the Month for November, the newsletter announced in its Dec. 3 issue.

Robinson (Mahwah, NJ/River Dell) averaged 28.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in leading the Crusaders to a 3-1 record during the month. He shot 61.3 percent (38-for-62) from the field, 42.3 percent (11-for-26) from three-point range and 81.3 percent (26-for-32) from the foul line, and scored 113 points in just 114 minutes of playing time in the four games.

Robinson set an O.W. Houts Gymnasium record by scoring 52 points in Susquehanna's victory over King's in the championship game of the Pepsi/Weis Markets Tip-Off Tournament on Nov. 18, breaking the facility record of 47 points set by Dave Freysinger of Dickinson in 1981 and the tournament record of 46 points set by the Crusaders' Tres Wolf against New Jersey City in 1993.

In the game, he shot 17-for-28 from the field, including 7-for-14 from three-point range, and sank 11-of-13 foul shots while also recording game highs of seven rebounds and six assists. For his efforts, Robinson was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Overall, Robinson is averaging 27.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists through five games for the Crusaders (4-1 overall, 1-1 Commonwealth Conference), who host Wilkes on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
