SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University junior guard Josh Robinson was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for the opening weekend of the 2006-07 season, the conference office announced Monday.
Robinson (Mahwah, NJ/River Dell) averaged 31.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 61.8 percent from the field to earn Most Valuable Player honors as the Crusaders won the Pepsi/Weis Markets Tip-Off Tournament with victories over Penn College (105-60) and King's (98-97 in overtime).
Robinson set an O.W. In the game, he shot 17-for-28 from the field, including 7-for-14 from three-point range, and sank 11-of-13 foul shots while also recording game highs of seven rebounds and six assists. Robinson scored 20 first-half points, 24 second-half points and eight overtime points in the victory.
Against Penn College, he played just 10 first-half minutes and scored 11 points to help the Crusaders rout the Wildcats.
