Four Crusaders on Landmark All-Academic Team
SELINSGROVE, PA -- The Landmark Conference has announced that 32 student-athletes have been honored with selection to the 2007 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team, which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically.

(York, Pa./West York), Matthew Gawlas
(Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg)
and Laura Haldeman
(Wallkill, N.Y./Wallkill)
were honored.
Brooks helped Susquehanna earn the Landmark Men's Cross Country Championship as he placed 13th and earned second-team All-Conference laurels. He was consistently a top-five runner during the year. He is a junior accounting major.
Gausmann was a co-captain for the Crusader women's cross country team. She earned second-team All-Conference honors by placing eighth at the Landmark Championships and was the team's number-two runner throughout the season. She boasts the highest cumulative GPA of any Susquehanna fall athlete and is a junior political science major.
Gawlas was a key contributor for the Susquehanna men's soccer team that earned a berth in the Landmark postseason. He scored three goals as a defender on the year and captured second-team All-Conference honors. He is a junior biology major.
Haldeman was a senior co-captain and defensive anchor for the women's soccer team. She played and started all 17 matches on the year, helping the Crusaders post a team goals against average of 1.27 and six shutouts. She will graduate with a degree in elementary education and Spanish.
The fall All-Academic Team features 13 seniors, 12 juniors and six sophomores. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must be a sophomore or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. In addition, all eight fall sports sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least one student-athlete. The Landmark Conference will select an All-Academic Team for each of the three athletics seasons during the year.
