Three Crusaders Earn All-Landmark Honors
SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Three Susquehanna University basketball players have earned All-Landmark Conference honors, the conference announced this week. Seniors Kevin Cuff (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity B.V.M.) and Josh Robinson (Mahwah, N.J./River Dell) were named to the men's basketball first team, and Robinson was also named Landmark Player of the Year. For the Crusader women, freshman Rachel Hughes
(Gordon, Pa./North Schuylkill)
earned second-team honors.
Despite tearing his ACL and missing the last three games of the regular season, Robinson finished atop the Landmark scoring leaders, averaging 21.7 points per game. He was also fourth in free throw percentage (82.2 percent) and in three pointers per game (20-of-45, 2.25/game). He surpassed the 1,000-career-point mark Feb. 2 against Scranton.
Cuff, the team's second-higest scorer, finished the regular season ranked fifth in the conference in scoring (15.1 ppg). A team co-captain, he started all 22 games in which he played. He also topped 1,000 points for his career, passing the milestone on Jan. 5 against Division I Coastal Carolina.
Hughes led the balanced Crusader attack with 195 points for the season (9.7 ppg). She was seventh in the Landmark in field goal percentage (46 percent) and ninth in free throw percentage (73.5 percent). Twelve student-athletes were selected to each 2007-08 All-Landmark Conference Team by the conference's eight men's and eight women's head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with six players on each team, and the selections made by position.
