SELINSGROVE, PA -- Susquehanna University's Joe Ramsey (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) has been named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete in men's cross country, the conference office announced.
Ramsey was a key contributor for the Susquehanna men's cross country team that earned the first Landmark Conference Championship this fall. He earned second-team All-Conference honors with an eighth-place finish at the conference meet and he also placed in the top-100 in the region.
Ramsey was a team captain for the Crusaders as a junior and a senior and made the freshman All-Region Team in his first year of competition. He is a three-time conference Academic Honor Roll selection, and was named to the Landmark All-Academic Team this fall.
An elementary education major, Ramsey has made the Dean's List in five of his six semesters and is a member of the National Education Honor Society.
The Landmark Conference chose six athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective fall sports. A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors selected the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the fall sports sponsored by the conference. The honorees have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.
