Jennifer Botchie, Head Coach
(570) 372-4588 - botchiej@susqu.edu

Jennifer Botchie '99 returned to her alma mater as the head cheerleading coach in 2004.

Botchie was a four-year letterwinner in cheerleading at Susquehanna from 1995 to 1999. She earned University Honors and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications in May 1999.

During semester breaks while still an undergraduate, Botchie worked with the cheerleading squad at J. Frank Faust Junior High School in her hometown of Chambersburg, Pa., and became a full-fledged assistant there after graduation. She also continued to cheer, joining the Harrisburg Horizon of the United Basketball Alliance (now the Eastern Basketball Alliance).

After moving to Northern Virginia in 2000, Botchie coached Marymount University in Arlington and the Power Elite Youth All-Stars in Chantilly. She guided the Marymount team to a Capital Athletic Conference championship in 2003 and placed several cheerleaders in the top 10 of the conference's individual competition in both 2003 and 2004.

Botchie remained active in the sport while coaching, competing as a tri-captain with the USA Eagles open all-star team in 2002 and the Spirit Extreme Angels open team in 2003. She was a member of the cheer squad for the Mason-Dixon Football League's Virginia Mutiny for three years, serving as captain in 2002 and coach in 2003. She is safety-certified by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators.

Botchie also works for the communications office at Susquehanna and is the university's adviser to the Iota Nu chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha and the women's rugby club team.
