April 22: Three compete at Gettysburg Spring Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Three members of the Susquehanna University women's golf team competed at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational, placing two in the top 15 among Division III golfers. Division I and II golfers also competed in the tournament, but were scored separately.

Sophomore Rachel Villano (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) led the Crusaders with a 104, good for 13th place. Junior Meghan Clark (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) was just two strokes behind with a 106, putting her in 15th place.

Senior captain Michaela Walsh (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) rounded out the Crusader card, shooting a 119 to tie for 23rd place.


April 15: Villano sets school record at Ursinus Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore Rachel Villano (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) set a Susquehanna University women's golf record at the Ursinus Invitational Tuesday, shooting an 89 to finish second individually. She is the first Susquehanna woman to break 90 in a collegiate tournament.

Senior captain Michaela Walsh (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) was next for the Crusaders with a 120. Serena Conway (Media, Pa./Country Day School of Sacred Heart) carded a 159 and Chelsey Bennett (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia HS for Girls) a 164.


April 7: Two compete in Muhlenberg Invitational Results

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Two members of the Susquehanna University women's golf team competed in the Muhlenberg Invitational Monday, held at the Lehigh Country Club.

Sophomore Rachel Villano (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) finished 24th overall as she carded a 107. Nancy Acker (Lenoxville, PA/Scranton Prep) shot a 140, which placed her 34th.


October 9: Susquehanna Fall Invitational

Tuesday afternoon ten women from Dickinson, Muhlenberg and Susquehanna battled the weather and completed the invitational in which no team scoring was kept.

Dickinson's Annie Gibala was the top finisher of the day with an impressive round of 89. In addition to taking top honors, Gibala beheld the highlight shot of the day with a hole in one on the third hole.

Susquehanna sophomore, Rachel Villano (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) would prove to be the second best on the day firing a 93. Close behind, Susquehanna's Meghan Clark (Port Royal, PA/Juniata) finished fourth with a total of 103. Michaela Walsh (Trumbull, CT /Trumbull) and Nancy Acker (Lenoxville, PA/Scranton Prep) carded 115 and 121, respectively for Susquehanna.

Teammates of Gibala, Claudia Grillo took third scoring an even 100 and Lydia Parrott tallied 122 for an eighth place finish.

Muhlenberg golfers Amy Venuto (108), Sarah Mellick (113) and Allison Siefert (132) also aided in the competitive shooting at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

The women's golf team will travel to Lancaster on October 29 to compete in the Franklin and Marshall Fall Invitational at noon.
