1995 Reunion Flag 10th Reunion at Homecoming

Anne Kern ’95 Gussow earned a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and microbiology from the University of Florida. Her dissertation “Characterization of a Transgenic Mouse Expressing the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 Latency Associated Transcript” generated a new experimental model that is being used to study how herpes lies dormant in cells of the nervous system and reactivates itself to cause infection. She is continuing her training as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. Her current research focuses on the relationship of progesterone receptors in the development of breast cancer.

Born to Darrell and Kristen Willix ’95 Kaplan, a daughter, Erin Rose, June 8, 2004. Kristen is a business analyst at Chubb & Son in Whitehouse Station, N.J. They live in Union, N.J.

Nathan McNitt ’95 is a member of the 378th Supply and Services/Support Battalion of the U.S. Army. His unit spent several months running 31 convoys across the desert to deliver the necessities of life to the troops in Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star and remains on full-time active duty. He will be acting as a training officer at Ft. Indiantown Gap to help prepare other soldiers for missions in Iraq.

Lara Darrow ’95 Tartaglia is an English teacher at Glendale Union High School. She and her husband, Greg, live in Phoenix, Ariz.
