Now in its 22nd year, the Leadership Institute for Entrepreneurship (LIFE) introduces students to finance, banking, stock and bond markets, sales, advertising, and global trade concepts. Students will grow in their understanding of the field of business and gain experience in effective collaboration as they work side by side with an excellent team of university faculty, staff and students.
LIFE students will have a chance to meet with nationally recognized entrepreneurs, as well as an entrepreneur-in-residence who works with students the entire week. More than 90 percent of LIFE students go on to enroll in business programs, with an average of six students returning to campus as Susquehanna students each year.
Leann Mischel, Ph.D., assistant professor of management at Susquehanna's Sigmund Weis School of Business, coordinates the entrepreneurial simulation. Susquehanna University undergraduates serve as program assistants and live with participants in the campus residence halls. All program faculty and counselors are affiliated with Susquehanna University.
The LIFE program structures time for leadership, entrepreneurship and team building. The week's schedule also provides time for creating relationships and having fun. Students also will have a chance to interview with Susquehanna admissions personnel.
The cost is $695 for those who apply by April 1 and $795 for anyone who applies after April 1.
This amount includes housing in a modern residence hall setting; breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the University’s cafeteria or on field trip sites; educational materials such as books and software; and field trip transportation to York, Hershey and Knoebels Amusement Resort.
Students should bring spending money for admission to Hersheypark and Knoebels Amusement Resort, campus bookstore purchases, snacks and other personal expenses.
