Welcome to Science in Motion at Susquehanna University!
Our program, part of the Pennsylvania Basic Ed/Higher Ed Science and Technology Partnership, focuses on encouraging and improving science education and instruction in the secondary schools throughout our region. Our mobile educators go to high school classrooms to assist teachers with their laboratory experiments to further develop the science education in area schools.
MISSION
The mission of the Pennsylvania Basic Ed/Higher Ed Science and Technology Partnership at Susquehanna University is to encourage and improve science instruction and education in the secondary schools in our region. To accomplish this mission, we provide free to local high school science teachers a van equipped with the latest technology and a trained certified secondary science teacher to assist in teaching the labs. We also provide professional development opportunities for teachers through summer workshops, as well as daylong seminars and dinner meeting activities during the academic year. In addition, these activities facilitate teacher networking and the development of new curricula across the region. The partnership effectively addresses the three greatest challenges to excellent science education: access to technologically advanced resources, good professional development for teachers and the development and facilitation of good science curricula.
