Wind Ensemble Institute

Susquehanna University offers a unique summer performance experience for high school students. This week-long, residential program focuses on chamber music and symphonic wind ensemble performance. Students work with Director of Bands Eric L. Hinton, Ph.D., HonFBC, as well as other distinguished Susquehanna faculty members.
The university reviews audition recordings and invites 55 gifted woodwind, brass and percussion players to campus for the Wind Ensemble Institute. High school students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2012 are invited to apply. Selection is competitive.
Comprehensive Fee:
- $510 if application and audition recording are postmarked on or before Feb. 29.
- $560 if application and audition recording are postmarked on or before May 2.
- $610 if application and audition recording are postmarked after May 2.
Applications will be accepted until all sections are filled.
Need-based and merit-based scholarships are available.
Students may audition on one of the instruments:
- Flute
- Oboe
- Clarinet
- Bassoon
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Horn
- Trombone
- Euphonium
- Tuba
- Percussion (must audition on two of the following: timpani, snare drum or mallet percussion)
