Most exciting thing about studying in the Honors Program at Susquehanna: "The most meaningful part of the Honors Program at SU was that it allowed me to begin working one-on-one with faculty members on an independent research project two years earlier than most students get that opportunity. Writing the Sophomore Essay gave me a huge advantage over my peers who were not in the Honors Program for the upcoming two years and especially while working on my Senior Seminar projects."
Independent research experience: "My Honors Independent Research project used both quantitative (regression) and qualitative (case study) analysis to draw linkages between state weakness, illicit trade, and terrorism. In other words, I tried to find out what factors, either governmental or natural (climate, latitude, etc.) played a role in increased levels of illicit trade (like drug trafficking or software piracy). It turns out that lower state capacity definitely leads to more crime in a country."
