PLUS (Philippines: Learning, Understanding and Service)

Image of students studying abroadPLUS is a service-learning trip to the Philippines for two weeks in May. The program includes educational, service and recreational components, all oriented around cultural immersion in the Philippines. The program begins with an academic course on Philippine history, culture, religion, language and cuisine during the spring semester.

Location: the Philippines- provinces of Batangas and Cavite, and the city of Manila.

Dates: May 17 - June 2, 2012.

Academic Credit: Four semester hours; this program and accompanying course satisfy the GO requirement.

Majors of interest: Open to all majors.

Application: Online application available on MySU.  Deadline is Dec. 1, 2011.

Cost: $2,695, includes transportation, accommodation, activities and some meals.

Financial Aid: Need-based financial aid may be available for students satisfying the GO requirement.
