Diane Liggett Scott

Scott joined the Susquehanna University music faculty in 1997. She teaches class piano and serves as collaborator for student, faculty, and ensembles. At Penn State University, she has accompanied recitals and concerto competitions for saxophone students. She has recorded two CDs with the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra “George M. Cohan - You’re A Grand Old Rag” and "From Barrelhouse to Broadway: The Music of Joe Jordan" both on the New World label with Grammy Award-winning producer Judith Sherman. She toured with PRO’s production of Scott Joplin’s opera “Treemonisha” and served as guest organist with PRO at the Christopher Cohen Center in San Luis Obispo, Calif., for the underscoring of the silent film “Zorro” with Douglas Fairbanks.
Graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. and M.A., she joined the national tour of Don Brockett productions serving as musical director. She has entertained on cruise ships from Hawaii to the Bahamas and worked in entertainment at Walt Disney World (WDW) for 10 years. While at WDW, she worked in production and danced in many parades and stage shows, appeared on television in “Santa Barbara”, hosted guest musicians with Magic Music Days, and danced as a backup dancer for pop singer Smokey Robinson. She was the vocal coach for the "Beetlejuice/Monster Mania Show" with Wayne Brady at Universal Studios.
She has adjudicated for the Florida Vocal Association, directed, musical directed, choreographed, and performed at various professional and community theatres in Florida and Pennsylvania. In 2001, she was music director and conductor of the Children’s Chorus and High School Ensemble of the Susquehanna Valley Chorale.
