Edisanter Lo’s academic background is in computational mathematics, statistics and electrical engineering. He teaches mathematics and computer science, and he is the coordinator for the data science/analytics program and the actuarial science program. He is the director of the GO Tokyo program.
Prior to Susquehanna University, he worked for 12 years as a scientist in the Planetary Geology Group that manages the Mars Wind Tunnel at NASA Ames and NASA Regional Planetary Image Facility at Arizona State University and was fully funded by several NASA and international robotic planetary missions.
His support for the missions included scientific data analysis using mathematical and statistical techniques, scientific visualization, scientific programming, system administration and digital image processing. After he joined Susquehanna University in 2012, he conducted funded research in detection using hyperspectral imaging at the Photonic Research Laboratory (U.S. Military Academy), U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory during the summers. The Office of Naval Research funded his one-year sabbatical leave.
He uses statistical modeling in detection, and his other research area is in the numerical solution of functional differential equations. The results of his research have been published in 39 journal and conference papers.
