We measure and model the extremely tenuous atmospheres of Mercury and the Moon. We also work to determine surface composition of these and other solar system bodies using Infrared spectrometers. These research efforts are principally based on observations made by Fred Grosse, Ph.D., and Richard Kozlowski, Ph.D., using NASA telescopes on Mauna Kea Hawaii, as well as University of Arizona telescopes. Over the years, several dozen Susquehanna University undergraduates have worked at the telescopes in Arizona and Hawaii.
