Major: Music Performance, Communications
The Project:
"Kling!"
My project was the classical voice piece "Kling!" by Richard Strauss. The project was not so much the actual piece as much as it was the way my voice sounds and has progressed over the years along with the overall presentation of the piece.
The Mentor:
Nina Tober, associate professor of music
My voice teacher, Dr. Tober, gave me weekly lessons for the past four years. She helped me to improve my voice, musicality, performance and everything else involved with becoming a successful classical vocalist.
The Experience:
My Senior Scholars Day project was a result of many years of daily practicing, lessons, performances and devotion to becoming the best vocalist and performer I can be.
The Reward:
I have taken away from my time here, not just from this project, a much improved voice and an expanded knowledge of music. My ability to sing and perform pieces now is much different than when I started at Susquehanna. This project is a very small piece in the whole spectrum of how I've grown in music over the past several years.
What's Next:
I am applying for graduate schools in vocal performance and also applying for television reporting positions.
