Peruvian Culture and Society
Experience Peruvian culture while contributing to hands-on, community-driven development projects. Live with host families, make a difference with the local community and explore historic Incan ruins and
cultural sites in the breathtakingly beautiful Andes.
Location: Based in Urubamba, near Cuzco, with two days in Lima, and two days in Machu Picchu plus several day trips to nearby markets and historical sites.
Dates: May 2013.
Prerequisite: Spanish language (equivalent of one year); readings as assigned by the program coordinator.
Academic credit: Two semester hours, this program and accompanying course satisfy the GO requirement.
Majors of interest: Open to all majors.
Application: Will be offered in the future.
Cost: To be determined.
Financial aid: Need-based financial aid may be available for students satisfying the GO requirement.
