Overview
The biology major at Susquehanna offers a contemporary curriculum in cellular and molecular biology, as well as ecology and environmental biology.
- The department emphasizes student participation in active research, in collaboration with faculty. Most students take advantage of the opportunity to complete a yearlong “capstone” research project, and many present their work at conferences or earn publication in scientific journals.
- Placement for biology graduates is strong. Approximately 75 percent go on to earn advanced degrees or complete professional school.
- In 2010, the department expanded into a cutting-edge new “green” building that features 19 labs and a rooftop greenhouse.
