Student Activity
Philosophy students can become very involved on campus. Philosophy majors take active part in the History Club, the Literature Club, Transformation (SU’s student-run literary magazine), SU Slam (the university’s slam poetry club), Support U (SU’s community service and support group), and an array of other campus activities (yes, even Ultimate Frisbee).
Given the discipline’s wide application, philosophy majors, double-majors, and minors may find interest in a wide variety of campus activities, from student government to the Mock Trial Club, the Pre-Law Society, and the university’s array of academic clubs.
The philosophy department strongly endorses double-majoring in philosophy and another subject of your interest. Currently, philosophy majors also major in biology, creative writing, English, international studies, political science, psychology, and theatre.
