Adjunct Faculty Communications

Swanger is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communications. Beyond teaching, he was worked full-time in public relations and corporate communications for more than 30 years and also has several years' experience in journalism. Nationally accredited in public relations (APR), he has served as a chapter president and local ethics officer for PRSA and mentored APR candidates. In 2009, he received the Central Pennsylvania PRSA Chapter's Frederick W. Leuschner Award for Excellence in Public Relations. He has written both popular and peer-reviewed articles on fundraising encroachment of public relations, a special interest. On a more creative level, he was twice invited by a Paramount Pictures production company to pitch television script ideas based on his submission of speculative scripts.
