Gava is a Fulbright Modern Language Fellow from Tahiti, French Polynesia. She studied at the University of French Polynesia and received in 2011 a Master’s degree in history and geography, as she has a real passion for those subjects.
Once graduated, Gava went to Northern Ireland as a French assistant in a secondary school for a scholar year. After the year of teaching, learning English and traveling, she worked in Cordoba, Spain, as a teaching assistant in French, history and geography. She instantly fell in love with the city and the Spanish culture. During those experiences, she has had the opportunity to tutor different levels—from kindergarten to secondary school. Teaching French at the university level in the United States is an exciting new challenge in her career and in her life.
Gava’s experience in the U.S. prior to arriving at Susquehanna has included a visit to San Francisco, where she participated in an exchange when she was in high school. More recently she visited Florida for one month as an education first leader for French children learning English. Her interests for additional travel in the U.S. include the destinations of New York and Louisiana and a dream trip on Route 66.
In her spare time, Gava enjoys travelling, reading The Lord of the Rings and participating in a Zumba class.
