Study Away & Service Learning
Susquehanna University students see the world and make a difference. Scores of study-away programs and a number of service-learning opportunities take students to sites both home and abroad, for short-term trips as well as semester-length studies.
All students at Susquehanna are required to participate in a unique cross-cultural program that will expose them to different cultures. The program, called GO (Global Opportunities), allows students to fulfill the requirement by participating in a traditional semester-away program, or by experiencing a shorter learning situation that puts them in an unfamiliar cultural context.
Winter 2013-2014 GO Short Applications
Susquehanna has been awarded the Andrew Heiskell Award for Internationalizing the Campus by the Institute of International Education (IIE), which honors the most outstanding initiatives in international higher education. One hundred percent of Susquehanna students participate a cross-cultural experience, which is up from only 30 percent before the cross-cultural requirement was part of the curriculum. The award will be accepted on March 22 by President Lemons in New York City.
