Grants

What are grants?

Grants are gift aid, a form of financial aid that:

Does not have to be repaid
Is awarded on the basis of financial need, in which an applicant’s family resources alone are not sufficient to cover the cost to attend Susquehanna
Reduces the amount that a student needs to borrow in order to enroll
Is provided by the university and/or state and federal governments
Is renewable for as many as four years
Requires a new aid application annually
Generally stays the same from year to year, unless there are significant changes in the family’s financial circumstance
