Action Days
Held in the fall semester, Action Days give high school students the opportunity to spend a day at Susquehanna to get an in-depth view of specific academic programs.
Arts Action Day
Oct. 3, 2011
Workshops with faculty in the creative and fine arts. Topics include music (includes a master class in instrumental and/or voice. Student should bring their instrument and a short piece to perform), graphic design, lighting design, computer visualization and acting. Lunch and campus tours are also provided.
Writing Action Day
Oct. 3, 2011
Workshops on college writing, creative nonfiction, critical nonfiction, fiction, film and writing, journalism, poetry, and sports journalism. Writing participants work with several published writers, one of whom is the featured speaker. Lunch and campus tours are also provided.
Business Action Day
Oct. 10, 2011
For students interested in accounting, business, economics, finance, information systems, marketing or management, this program focuses on the rapidly changing business environment and how to prepare for it. Campus tours, lunch and career information are included.
Liberal Arts Action Day
Oct. 10, 2011
Workshops conducted with faculty and students in economics, education, history, political science, prelaw, psychology and public relations will be offered in addition to campus tours, lunch and career information.
Science Action Day
Oct. 21, 2011
Experiments conducted with faculty and students in biochemistry, earth and environmental sciences (global warming), earth and environmental sciences (when rocks and water don't mix), health care (anatomy), mathematics/computer science, physical chemistry, and organic chemistry. Campus tours, lunch and career information are also included.
