Applying as an International First-Year (Freshman) Student
Steps to complete your application:
1. Complete the Susquehanna Success Application for International First-Year Students or the Common Application online.
2. Official High School Transcript
Counselors are alerted to submit official transcripts through your online application. Or ask your high school to send an official transcript directly to the Office of Admissions. Your senior grades must be submitted as soon as they are available.
3. School Report
Counselors submit School Report Forms through your online application.
4. TOEFL or IELTS Test Results
If English is not your first language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of 80 (Internet-based), 213 (computerized) or 550 (paper) on the TOEFL is required. Your test results must be sent to us directly by the testing service. Our code for TOEFL scores is 2820. You may also submit an IELTS test score. Our minimum requirement is a score of 6.0.
5. SAT/ACT Scores
We will accept an ACT and/or SAT scores in lieu of the TOEFL or IELTS. Please request that ACT and SAT scores be sent directly to Susquehanna University.
6. Verification of Financial Resources
Students who require a visa to study at Susquehanna University must complete a Certification of Financial Support with all required supporting documentation, including bank statements, income and salary statements of parents from their employers, and/or a sponsorship letter.
7. Additional Materials (optional)
We are happy to review letters of recommendation from teachers on high school letterhead, although they are not required.
