The University's high-technology Apfelbaum Hall opened in the fall of 1999. The structure is headquarters for the Department of Communications and the Sigmund Weis School of Business and an information technologies learning resource for the entire campus. The building has been designed to encourage student-faculty collaboration and team-based projects.

Students gain experience in television production in studio and editing facilities. Two television studios provide opportunities in state-of-the-art production. Students learn real-time direction, studio camera techniques and how to create computer-generated graphics and special effects.
