The Honors Program: Students

Classroom

Talented students in the Honors Program have represented virtually every major offered by the University. Their diversity of interests, backgrounds and personalities make seminar classes lively and stimulating. One student describes himself as "the biggest baseball fan on the planet," another is a member of the handbell choir and president of the Travel Club and still another admits to being "obsessed by racquetball." Their ideas of fun range from scooter races down the dorm hall or a night out under the stars to devouring films and "just hanging out with friends." Their future plans range from careers in music performance, education, to medicine and business and law.

The Honors Program at Susquehanna is highly selective. To choose our Honors class, we look for signs of:

  • an aggressive curiosity
  • a passion for learning
  • high energy
  • strong communication skills
  • excellence in a challenging high school curriculum

Most of our Honors students rank in the top five percent of their high school classes and score well on the SATs, typically between 1200 and 1500. If you fit this profile, we urge you to apply.
