Susquehanna has so many different departments and I wanted the chance to pursue all the things I'm interested in. I can do that here.

Playing Estelle Genovese in The Full Monty was a lot of fun. She has a very different personality from me and it gave me a chance to really come out of my shell. My biggest role in a show so far was the mother-in-law in the spring production of Blood Wedding. I like Assistant Professor Anna Andes' approach as a director, because she took time to explain the character’s motives but still gave us room for our own creative interpretations.

I'm a member of Sigma Alpha Iota international music fraternity for women, and live in the SAI house. We do service activities, like helping with the Music Preparatory Program. And a few times each semester we perform at Grayson View retirement community. We also went to the mall and set up a stand with little musical instruments for kids to come and play. They loved it.

I'm also an officer in Lambda Delta Mu, which is attempting to become the first collegiate co-ed LGBT/Ally fraternity. In addition I'm in GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) and Long Reach Productions, a student film group. For fun, I go to TRAX a lot. I love it when live bands perform because it's the kind of thing I could see myself doing.

My writing has improved incredibly through the Writers Institute. I've pulled things out of my mind and pushed myself deeper than I ever have before. It's helped me to realize how much I still have to do to craft and polish my voice as a writer.
