What is APAN?

Since 1983, members of the Alumni-Parent Admissions Network (APAN) have provided vital support to the admissions effort. APAN members are active and well informed volunteers who are asked to provide at least 10 hours of their time per year to the group. APAN volunteers participate in a variety of recruiting activities, all of which assist the professional admissions staff in attracting qualified prospective students to research, apply and enroll at Susquehanna. The APAN program provides a format for enthusiastic SU alumni and parents of Susquehanna students to share their knowledge and experiences with prospective students. APAN members’ involvement enables the Office of Admissions to have personal contact with high school students in their communities. As official representatives of Susquehanna University, APAN volunteers promote the University from a perspective that the professional staff cannot.

APAN members can represent Susquehanna at college fairs in their home area, host and staff receptions for incoming, accepted and prospective students, contact accepted students through our Adopt-A-Student program, Adopt-A-High School or conduct interviews with accepted students in their home area.
