Costs Involved

• There is no graduation fee at Susquehanna University.

• Caps, gowns and diplomas are provided to the students at no cost.

• For graduating seniors receiving honors, the diplomas are sent away for honors inscriptions after Commencement and then sent to the student’s home address at no additional cost to the student.

• We offer, as an option, graduation sashes depicting the country of the GO program in which the student participated. The cost per sash is $32. (Price may change from year to year.) Please watch for an email survey with ordering opportunities. If you have opted out of receiving Survey Monkey emails in the past, you will not receive this email so please contact the Office of Event Management at 570-372-4354.

• There are optional cords available for service programs and honor societies. The service program cords are $5 - $8 per cord. The honor society cords are available for purchase or rent in some cases. The costs vary, depending on the department. Check with the department issuing honors.

• The graduation luncheon on Commencement day is free to graduating seniors. The cost to family and friends is $12.50 per adult, $7.50 per child 6 - 12, and free for children 5 and younger.

• Grad Images takes photos during Commencement, and they will contact the student for optional purchase.

• Balfour will provide information to graduates about ordering announcements and class rings. These are optional purchases. Announcements take two to three weeks for delivery. Announcements and class rings can be ordered at Balfour.com.

• Susquehanna University provides a meal plan at no cost to graduating seniors for senior week. Our dining hall staff does themed meals and picnics to improve the senior week experience.

• Parking tickets and unpaid balances must be paid in full prior to students receiving caps and gowns for Commencement.

• Return your textbook rentals by May 5 to avoid any late fees.

• Senior week (May 5-11) events and activities for graduates will be planned by the senior class officers. While most senior week events, including meals, are free for graduates, the number and types of events that are offered that week depends on how much money the class raises. The money they raise this year will be added to the money they have been raising since their freshman year. Then, the total amount raised will be matched by the Student Government Association up to $2,000. The more money they raise, the more activities they can have that week.
