Welcome to the Sigmund Weis School of Business at Susquehanna University!
Our program focuses on students, and our mission speaks to engaging and preparing them for successful lives of achievement and service. Business majors enjoy the richness of a traditional liberal arts college, receive a broad managerial foundation, and learn technical skills that enable them to contribute immediately to the organizations they join upon graduation. In a word, we offer opportunity.
Please consider:

The Sigmund
Weis School is accredited by AACSB International. We
are only a handful of private, exclusively undergraduate programs to
earn this benchmark of quality. Click here for a Flash
Presentation of the value of AACSB Accreditation.
Our
graduates are sophisticated users of software applications and
information technology for management decisions. All business
students complete 12 semester hours of course work in Information
Technology, more than twice what is typically required in other
undergraduate business programs.
Most
of our graduates are comfortable in international environments and
prepared for the global business community. During their junior
year, more than half of the
business majors participate in our semester-long London Program.
Many others study abroad at universities around the world. And,
Susquehanna offers several short-term programs in Australia, Costa
Rica, Belize, and other countries.
Students
gain valuable professional experience in our Internship Program.
Over seventy percent of business
majors complete at least one paid summer internship experience,
within commuting distance of home, in major U.S. metropolitan areas,
and even in Europe. These internships often lead to full-time
offers upon graduation.
Students
also get to meet and learn from our Executives in Residence. Recent
guest executives have included the President of Duracell, the Chief
Financial Officer of Aetna Insurance, and a Governor of the Federal
Reserve System. Many of our alumni also visit the campus as guest
speakers. In New York City, our alumni organize a major networking
reception for business majors each spring.
Several
active student clubs enable business students to develop leadership
skills, pursue new opportunities, and continue their learning
outside of their courses. Our Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE)
group has won national honors in each of the past two years, and the
Accounting, Investment, and Marketing Clubs feature guest
executives, team competitions, and trips to national meetings.
Business
students at Susquehanna enjoy a new, high-tech learning environment
in the very centrally located Apfelbaum Hall. The building features
three computer labs, five team study rooms, classrooms with
state-of-the-art instructional technology, two student lounges and
high-speed wireless connectivity throughout. Apfelbaum Hall is also
the location of most business faculty offices and the office of the
Dean.
I encourage you to explore our Web site,
take a close look at our program for business majors, and learn more
about Susquehanna University. Please call or send me an e-mail
message with your comments and questions. If you can arrange a
visit to campus, please know that I’d be more than happy to meet
with you and any family members you bring along.
