EDUC:476 Principles of Learning and Teaching in Elementary Education.
Synthesis of knowledge from prior education courses that addresses students as learners, instructional strategies, instructional planning, assessment strategies, communication techniques and teacher professionalism. Includes field experiences at a school site. This course is taken in the first semester of the senior year as part of the Elementary Methods Block (see the elementary education (K-6) in the education course requirements section). (A summer section of EDUC:476 may be offered for students participating in the Teacher Intern Program. This summer section carries two semester hours of credit and is not available to undergraduate students.) Prerequisites: Senior standing and admission to the teacher education program. 4 SH.
