Catholic Campus Ministry
Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) is an organization dedicated to helping students grow in their faith and love of God. Although we are a Catholic organization, all are welcome to attend our meetings and activities. CCM meets every Sunday at 6:45pm at St. Pius X Church. Our weekly activities include:
- Participating in the SU Mass at St. Pius X Church on Sundays at 6pm
- Rosary Prayer Group at 7:30pm in the Newman House
- Bible Study at 8pm in the Newman House
CCM also holds events with the St. Pius X Youth Ministry and volunteers as Religious Education Aides at St. Pius X Church. On February 24-26 we will be taking a retreat with other colleges in the Diocese of Harrisburg. The theme is "Search for Christian Maturity."
This semester, CCM is proud to announce the opening of Newman House, a Catholic resource center on campus. Newman House provides a variety of materials about the Catholic faith which are available for loan to anyone in the SU community. The Newman House is also where a variety of CCM activities take place including Bible Studies, Rosary Prayer Group, Movie Nights with the St. Pius X Youth Ministry, and social gatherings. Newman House is located at 312 University Avenue. Our hours are:
- Tuesday 12-1 and 8-9
- Wednesday 11-12 and 7-9
- Thursday 12-1 and 7:30-9:30
Please check out our Web site http://www.susqu.edu/ccm/ for more information or contact Carol Olausen.
Lutheran Student Movement
Lutheran Student Movement is open to all students interested in strengthening their faith in God and meeting other Christians in an open and fun environment (with plenty of singing). The group meets every week at 10pm in Horn Meditation Chapel. The meetings alternate each week between informal student-led worship and meetings with varying themes. LSM just returned from their fall retreat at Camp Mount Luther. They are planning a similar event for the spring semester. Upcoming events for the remainder of the fall semester includes Christmas caroling and more Bible study and worship. Interested students should contact president Aileen Carlson for more information. We are always open to new members!
InterVarsity
InterVarsity will be sponsoring a FREE concert on Saturday, November 19th from 7-8:30 pm in the Weber Chapel Auditorium. The featured band is Messenger, a Christian worship group from Lewistown, PA. For more information on the concert, please contact Kristin Aurand. You can find more out about the band at www.messengerband.com.
Chancel Drama
This year, Chancel Drama will be performing "Children's Letters to God." Performance dates are January 19th, 20th, and 21st. All participants in the show come back a week early from winter break to prepare for the show. Auditions will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11am in Degenstein Theatre. Anyone interested in auditioning should come prepared with a musical theatre piece and the music. An accompanist will be provided. Also, those interested in technical positions are welcome to join, no audition is required. To learn more, you can contact one of the following people:
